Ashes defeat completes ever-present tour for Griffiths
England Women’s tour of Australia ended in Sydney on Tuesday with the host nation regaining the Women’s Ashes with a seven-wicket victory in the one-off Test.
This completed an international series, which included three one-day internationals and five Twenty20 matches, during which Cheshire captain Lauren Griffiths was ever-present as wicketkeeper, bagging a total of four catches and one stumping. This included the early wicket of both Australia openers in the home side’s first innings, when England secured a lead of 48 and appeared to have the upper hand. But England managed only 149 second time out and Australia cruised home.
